Osmo Action Camera Lets DJI Take On GoPro

The space of action camera has a new player on the block. This new player is known by the name of DJI. Today, the organization has gone on to reveal Osmo Action, which is priced at $349. The Osmo Action is primarily designed to compete with the Hero line from GoPro. The features include a ½.3-inch sensor that is capable of capturing 12-megapixel photos, 4K and 4K HDR video. The dual displays make the Osmo Action stand out among others. Plus, there is a 2.25-inch touchscreen on the back and a 1.4-inch on the front.

As this happens to be a rugged camera, DJI made it completely dustproof, shockproof till 5ft and waterproof down to 36ft. If anyone wants to take it even deeper underwater, there will be an external housing case to help people do just that. Now, one of the favorite aspects of the Osmo Action is its Quick Switch physical button. This allows easy toggle between different modes like a picture, video, time-lapse as well as slow-motion. In addition to these, one can even use it to select the one out of the two screens that people would like to view. As far as video is concerned, one has 720p and 1080p at their disposal. One can even record 4K at 60 frames per second with EIS. On the other hand, 4K HDR video would be limited to 30 frames per second.

So, having seen what is available, only time will tell how Osmo Action performs as compared to flagship offerings from GoPro. Still, there is a lot to like here. They include the options in the form of dual-screens and 4K video. If one is interested to get hold of one, then order for a price of $349, starting from today.
